This Sunday, we will reflect on the powerful promise
found in the Book of Joel 2:25. where the Lord declares,
“I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten.”
In Joel’s day, the people had experienced devastating loss.
Locusts had consumed their crops and their livelihoods,
leaving behind destruction and hardship. Yet, in the
middle of loss, God gave His people a promise of
restoration.
What a reminder this is for us today. Life has a way
of bringing seasons that feel like loss. Time passes,
opportunities slip away, mistakes are made, and
sometimes we look back and feel as though years
have been wasted or taken from us. But the message
of Joel reminds us that God is not limited by our past.
The Lord is able restore what is broken and renew
what seems lost.
Restoration does not always mean that God gives
us back the exact things we lost, but He does promise
to bring healing, renewal, and purpose to our lives when
we turn to Him. Our God is a God of mercy, grace and
second chances. When we trust Him, He can take the
broken pieces of our past and use them for His glory and
for our good.
As we gather this week, may we be reminded that no
season of life is beyond God’s ability to redeem. The
same God who restored His people in Joel’s day is still
at work today. bringing hope, renewal and restoration to
those who seek Him.
